Privacy Policy

FysiCal is an iPhone app that reminds you of your physiotherapy exercises. This policy explains what information the app processes, why, and what rights you have. The short version: there is no account, we don't track you, and you can delete everything with one tap.

Data controller

ogDahl, Denmark
Email: dev@ogdahl.dk

No account – anonymous identity

You don't create a user account and never provide a name, email address or phone number. The first time the app is opened, an anonymous identity (a random user ID) is created with Firebase Authentication. The ID is used solely to keep your backup separate from everyone else's. We cannot link it to you as a person.

What information does the app process?

1. Your exercise plan and history

Everything you enter yourself:

  • Session times (e.g. "Morning 07:30") and their settings
  • Exercises with name, sets, reps and notes
  • Completed exercises and sessions with timestamps
  • Optional feedback after a session: perceived difficulty, any pain, and a free-text note
  • Reminder settings (interval and maximum count)

This information is stored locally on your phone and backed up automatically to your anonymous profile in the cloud (see below). Feedback about pain may qualify as health data. It is processed only to show you your own history; we do not analyse or share it.

2. Technical information about your installation

To deliver push notifications, debug problems and understand broadly how the app is used, the following is stored on your anonymous profile:

  • A push token (from Apple / Firebase Cloud Messaging) that allows notifications to be sent to your phone
  • App version, iOS version and device model (e.g. "iPhone 17 Pro")
  • Language, region code and time zone
  • Date of first and most recent use, and number of launches
  • Whether notifications are allowed
  • Aggregate numbers about your plan and usage: number of session times and exercises, sessions completed, days with activity, and feedback entries
  • Events such as "session marked as done" or "onboarding completed" with timestamps

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, Apple Health data or any other information from your phone.

No tracking, no ads, no sale of data

The app contains no ad networks, no third-party analytics SDKs and no tracking across apps or websites. We never sell or rent information to anyone. The app does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because nothing is tracked.

Processors and transfers

Backup, anonymous identity and push notifications are provided by Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC), which processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Google may process data on servers outside the EU/EEA; such transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Push notifications are also delivered through the Apple Push Notification service. See Firebase's privacy information.

The website fysical.app is hosted on Cloudflare and uses no cookies or analytics.

Programmes shared by physiotherapists

A physiotherapist can build a programme at fysical.app/pro and share it as a short link or QR code (fysical.app/p/code). The programme – session times, exercises, optional notes, an optional first name and the name of the practitioner or clinic – is stored compressed under a random code in our database (Google Firestore, EU region) for 12 months and then deleted automatically. We don't record who created it. It can only be opened by someone who has the code, and the app only fetches it when you open such a link. Importing it into the app copies the plan into your own data; the first name and practitioner details are shown once and not saved.

Retention

Your information is kept for as long as you use the app. Profiles that have been inactive for 24 months may be deleted. You can delete everything yourself at any time (see below).

Deleting your data

You can delete all of your information directly in the app without contacting us:

  1. Open FysiCal and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Tap Delete my data and confirm.

This permanently deletes your plan, history, feedback, technical information and cloud backup – both on the phone and at Firebase – and resets the app. The anonymous identity is deleted at the same time. Deletion cannot be undone.

If you simply remove the app from your phone, the anonymous backup remains in the cloud until it is cleaned up after inactivity. To have it removed immediately without reinstalling, email dev@ogdahl.dk with your user ID (shown under Settings in the app while it is installed).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Because we do not know who you are, we can only locate your information if you provide the anonymous user ID from the app. Requests go to dev@ogdahl.dk. You may also lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) or your local supervisory authority.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information that could identify a child.

Not a medical app

FysiCal is a reminder and logging tool. It does not diagnose, does not give treatment recommendations and does not replace your physiotherapist or doctor. Always contact your practitioner if you experience pain or are in doubt.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, the date at the top is updated and the change is described in the app's release notes. The current version is always available at fysical.app/privacy/. See also the terms of use.
